1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, place an order, open a support ticket, or otherwise interact with our services. This includes:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash — we never see your plain-text password).
  • Billing information: your billing address and VAT number where applicable. Payment card numbers are processed directly by our payment provider (Stripe) and are never stored on our servers.
  • Support communications: messages, attachments, and metadata you send to our support team via tickets or Discord.
  • Server configuration: settings and preferences you configure on your hosted game servers.

2. Log Data

When you visit our website, our servers automatically record information your browser sends. This "Log Data" includes:

  • Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages of our website you visit and the time you spend on each page
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Referring URL (the page you visited before arriving on our site)

Log data is used for security monitoring, fraud prevention, and aggregate analytics to improve our service. It is not used to build individual user profiles for advertising purposes.

3. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve our service. A cookie is a small data file stored on your device by your browser.

Essential Cookies

Required for the website and billing portal to function correctly. These include session authentication tokens, CSRF protection tokens, and shopping cart state. They cannot be disabled without breaking the service.

Analytics Cookies

Help us understand how visitors use our site in aggregate — which pages are most visited, where users drop off in checkout, etc. All data is anonymised before we analyse it. We do not use Google Analytics.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provision, operate, and maintain your hosted game servers
  • To process payments and send invoices, receipts, and billing notices
  • To send your server credentials and deployment confirmations
  • To alert you to planned maintenance, unplanned downtime, or security events affecting your servers
  • To respond to your support requests and follow up on open tickets
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and protect against fraud or abuse
  • To improve and develop our services based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Full stop.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share the minimum necessary data with the following categories of trusted service providers, solely to operate our service:

Payment ProcessingStripe, Inc. — processes all card payments. Card numbers are transmitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on GameHost servers.
Server InfrastructureOVHcloud and partners — physical servers on which your game servers run. They have no access to your account data or server contents beyond what is required for hardware operation.
Email DeliveryTransactional email provider — used to deliver invoices, server credentials, and support replies. Only your email address and message content are shared.
Legal AuthoritiesWe may disclose personal data if required to do so by applicable law, court order, or government request. We will notify you where legally permitted before complying.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher (HTTPS)
  • Passwords are hashed using a strong one-way algorithm (bcrypt) — we cannot recover your password
  • Payment card numbers are never stored in our database and never will be
  • Two-factor authentication is available and recommended for all accounts
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only, logged, and audited

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

7. Third-Party Links

Our service may contain links to third-party websites and services (game mod portals, Discord, external documentation, etc.) that are not operated by GameHost. Clicking a third-party link will direct you away from our site. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/EEA under GDPR and Turkey under KVKK Law No. 6698), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.

Right to Erasure

Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").

Right to Rectification

Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Right to Portability

Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Right to Restriction

Request that we limit how we process your data.

Right to Object

Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

  • Account data: retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of a verified erasure request.
  • Billing records: retained for 7 years to comply with financial and tax regulations.
  • Support tickets: retained for 2 years after closure for quality and fraud-prevention purposes.
  • Log data: retained for 90 days then purged automatically.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or by placing a prominent notice in your client area. Continued use of our services after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
